Haul Truck Operator

Copper Resources Australia Pty Ltd (part of the Mt Cuthbert Group) is the operator of the Rocklands Project, located near Cloncurry, North West Queensland. 
About the role
Reporting to the Mining Supervisor, the Haul Truck Operator is responsible for digging, moving and loading earth, rock or other materials by operating heavy equipment which may include haul and dump trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, excavators, and other pieces of equipment; in a safe, effective and appropriate manner. Assisting the team to ensure production targets are met in accordance with the mining schedule.
You will be required to:
Whilst each Operator will have specific experience with one or more types of equipment and will be assigned to that particular equipment, it is expected that Operators will be required to safely operate a variety of equipment on a regular and rotational basis on both day and night shifts.
To be successful, you will need to have the following:

• Current Drivers Licence
• Current RII for at least two or more types of relevant equipment:
  • Cat 785 Rigid Trucks
  • Cat Dozer, Loader and Grader
  • Cat 773 Rigid Water Cart
• 1+ years industry experience (hard rock/open pit highly desirable)
• Ability to follow instructions and plan tasks
• Effective communication skills
• Safe work practices
• Be able to successfully complete background checking including pre-employment medical and meeting the requirements of a safe seat rating of 120kg
• There is a "clean shaven" policy in place regarding respiratory PPE
• First Aid Certificate

The role is offered as a 14/14 FIFO position from Cairns, Townsville or Brisbane, or DIDO Mt Isa, with meals and accommodation provided at the site camp. If you choose to live in Cloncurry, a generous residential allowance is also available.
