Heavy Diesel Mechanic
ChoiceOne are seeking an experienced qualified Heavy-Duty Motor Mechanic preferred or a light duty mechanic to join our team to provide servicing, maintenance and repairs to the local Councils fleet, plant and equipment.
Experience working on a range of plant, equipment and vehicles including light fleet, heavy trucks, waste trucks and mechanical aids, including loaders, excavators, tractors is preferred. There will also be a requirement to service, maintenance and repair of small items of plant and equipment such as chainsaws, concrete cutters, brush cutters and blowers.
Criteria

• Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Heavy Duty Mechanics (On Highway preferred) or equivalent for a light duty mechanic;
• Post-trade experience in Heavy Duty equipment servicing / repairs, particularly multi-functional hydraulic systems;
• Knowledge of Australian Design Regulations and Standards, licensing procedures and statutory provisions relevant to heavy vehicles;
• Highly developed knowledge of the practical application of Work, Health and Safety measures relevant to mechanical workshops
• Capable of physical manual labour;
• Self-motivated, able to work with minimum supervision and possess organizational skills.
• Experience working in a major service workshop servicing heavy equipment.
