Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and serving a variety of coffee and espresso drinks, ensuring consistent quality and taste.
- Leading and training the team to develop the best quality coffee and service
- Assist in the growth and improvement of CBD cafe
- Assisting customers in making beverage selections and answering any questions they may have.
- Operating coffee equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and brewing devices.
- Maintaining a clean and organised workspace, including proper cleaning and maintenance of coffee equipment.
- Managing inventory, restocking supplies, and notifying management of any shortages.
- Processing customer payments and handling cash transactions accurately.
- Maintaining a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for our customers.
Skills & Experience
- Previous barista experience within medium to large sized cafes – 15 to 20kgs or more per week highly regarded
- Completion of a barista training course
- Responsible Service of Alcohol
- A passion for coffee and a desire to pass on your barista skills to the team.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and stay calm under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and sanitation.
- A positive and friendly attitude, with a focus on teamwork.
About the Role:
As the Head Barista at CBD, you will be responsible for creating high-quality coffee beverages, providing excellent customer service, leading the breakfast team and contributing to the overall success of our cafe.
The position is full-time position of 38 hours per week and will predominately be morning shifts across a 7-day roster.
