Head Chef / Manager

Lyric's Bar and Underground is an up-market medium sized family-owned bar and restaurant (400 pax) in the heart of Maylands.  We are a diverse local bar and restaurant with frequent events in the award-winning Lyric’s Underground which attracts patrons from far afield.

Our restaurant strives for a relaxed up-market menu known for its innovation and quality which is well patronised by locals and visitors.  

We seek an accomplished, self-motivated, and innovative Head Chef to take ownership of a proven kitchen and work as part of our group of dedicated hospitality managers to further the success that is Lyrics.

You will be responsible:

• To manage the kitchen and design seasonal menus and specials.
• For staffing levels and quality produce to achieve agreed KPI's.
• For maintaining a good work life balance for you and your team.
• For the professional wellbeing of your team providing them with incentives and training to improve skills.

Your salary will be negotiable based upon your experience and, in part, will be dependent upon the delivery of agreed modest KPI’s.

Current hours of trade are fixed to provide permanent staff an excellent life - work balance:

• Closed Mondays, Tuesdays and all public holidays
• Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4pm
• Fridays to Sundays from 11.30am. 

Applicants should be a qualified Chef and hold:

• Current Senior First Aid Certificate
• Food Handlers Certificate to manager level
• 3 years’ minimum experience in a relevant senior role(s)
• Minimum of two years’ experience in kitchen management
• Be an efficient “hands on” chef, keen to multitask.

Chefs with a strong history in a Sous position may also be considered but would need to be an outstanding candidate to be considered.
