We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to join our dedicated team and contribute to the wellbeing and satisfaction of our residents through high-quality meal preparation and menu planning.
Position Overview:
As the Head Chef at ValleyView Residence, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen, ensuring the delivery of nutritious and delicious meals to our residents. You will lead a team of kitchen staff, maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, and create varied menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including meal preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Develop and implement nutritious and appetising menus in line with residents' dietary requirements.
- Manage food inventory, ordering, and stock control to minimise waste.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
- Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work culture.
- Collaborate with the management team to enhance the dining experience for residents.
- Monitor and manage kitchen budget and costs effectively.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role, preferably in an Aged Care or healthcare setting is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of dietary requirements and nutrition, particularly for older adults.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
