About the role
The Head of Asset Performance and Optimisation is responsible for the development and growth of Austal’s Asset Management System, with a focus on Asset Performance and Optimisation activities through the life of the Asset (design, build, commission, through life support and de-commission) in accordance with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key objectives & responsibilities include:
Leadership & Capability
- Leadership, guidance and management responsibility for Asset Performance and Optimisation personnel within the team
- Develop and sustain an Asset Management framework that embeds asset management principles across all functions of the Austal business
Tools and Processes
- Develop and maintain the Asset Management System aligned to ISO 55001
- Maintain, promote and enforce standards and procedures for control and quality
Reporting
- Supporting all estimating activities that relate to Asset Management services and that all relevant project finances are controlled, reported on and any required corrective measures are initiated promptly
- Ensure accurate life cycle management of data across all contracts
- Ensure the development of ILS artifacts are accurate, meet contractual requirements and are fit for through life support
Business Growth / Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate Performance and efficiencies, address barriers and prioritise critical areas which may impede on business success
- Lead and support risk and opportunity management, strategic change management and business improvement activities and initiatives, as required
- Work with the Operational Excellence Manager to identify and develop opportunities through structured Business Cases
Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:
- Hold a Construction safety induction (white card)
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Asset Management or Engineering;
- Experience in a field relevant to the sustainment of Naval Assets;
- Eligibility of or Membership of the Asset Management Council, Engineers Australia or similar recognised body.
- Eligibility for senior professional accreditation(s) such as Certified Senior Practitioner / Fellow in Asset Management (CSAM / CFAM), Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or relevant equivalent accreditation; and
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
