Reporting to the CEO you will make an impact, by leading government and Stakeholder engagement strategies, corporate communications, and shaping the organisation's response to policy development. This role is fundamental in ensuring that the way in which we engage with key stakeholders, across a range of strategic projects supports the corporate strategy and strengthens our social licence to operate.Critically, this role will be responsible for developing a strategy that aligns all levels of the business and the Board behind a framework that builds trust, enhances corporate reputation, and unlocks the ability for the business to operate across core operational areas.Your role will:
  • Lead and drive Horizon Power's response to State and Commonwealth policy initiatives, deliver corporate documentation, non-marketing related corporate communications, and build relationships with political stakeholders, advisers, and department officials.
  • Drive the development and delivery of the Corporate Affairs and Stakeholder Relations strategy, as well as developing and overseeing the crisis communications management plan to provide timely and relevant strategic communication response to major issues/matters that may impact Horizon Power.
  • Lead and implement stakeholder engagement plans that align with Horizon Power's vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities, and manage related activities, including partnering with external agencies to design and implement external affairs strategy, where required.
  • Monitor and evaluate stakeholder engagement initiatives, stakeholder perception, attitudes and behaviours and report on outcomes and performance indicators for enhancing Horizon Power's social licence to operate.
  • Provide comprehensive advice and guidance on stakeholder engagement and social licence matters, ensuring compliance with policies, and support issues management and act as a point of contact for feedback and escalated issues.
You will have:
  • A Degree or tertiary qualifications in Communications, Government Relations, Public Policy, Political Science, or related discipline, which is essential. A post-graduate qualification in a commercial field e.g., MBA is desirable.
  • Demonstrated successful experience and management of government relationships and Stakeholders in Western Australia.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of government processes and the relationships between political offices and the bureaucracy.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in stakeholder engagement and social licence management, preferably in a regulatory or public sector environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully advising and aligning senior management/board in strategic Corporate Affairs matters.
  • A high level of professionalism and integrity, with the ability to act ethically and responsibly, and uphold the organisation's values and reputation.
  • An elevated level of creativity and innovation, with the ability to design and implement stakeholder engagement strategies and activities that are engaging, relevant, and impactful.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address stakeholder needs, issues, and expectations.
