Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Head of Data Services to lead the data analytics and data engineering initiatives. Reporting to the newly appointed Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Head of Data Services will be responsible for managing a team of 16 staff members and driving the organization's data strategy. This role presents an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in leveraging data to innovate the quality across the broad range of services offered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead both the data analytics and data engineering teams and multiple squads to ensure the successful execution of Data initiatives.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Oversee data migration projects to ensure seamless transition and integration of Data across platforms.
- Drive the development and implementation of Data analytics solutions, including data platforms, dashboarding, and advanced analytics capabilities.
- Provide strategic guidance on technology selection and adoption to support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in data analytics and propose innovative solutions to enhance organizational capabilities.
- Foster a culture of Data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in leadership positions across data strategy, data analytics, data engineering, or related roles.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing data strategies that drive business outcomes.
- Background and understanding in data analysis tools and platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business requirements into actionable data initiatives.
- Experience working in the not-for-profit sector or related industries is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
