The successful applicant will ideally provide purposeful and focused leadership for the Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) team as well as establish accountability for the effective daily management of the learning areas. With the ability to lead change and innovation, the Head of Department of HASS will use evidence-based data to inform all decision making.

Margaret River SHS is an Independent Public School which is an integral part of the Augusta- Margaret River community. Founded in 1952, the school has a rich history of student success and achievement. This tradition is upheld with a continued commitment to the achievement of personal and academic excellence. A major strength of the School Community is its strong links and partnerships with parents and the local community.

This prestigious award recognises schools in Western Australia with outstanding student achievement, both in tertiary and non-tertiary pathways of study. We believe strongly that all students are capable of achieving. By setting explicit learning goals, providing frequent feedback, supporting and encouraging self-motivation, students will learn and achieve.
