About the role
The Head of Donor Engagement is a member of the fundraising leadership team at Eastern Health and responsible for the strategic development and implementation of mass donor communication including acquisition, appeals, mass communication and data development for Eastern Health. This position develops, manages, and implements annual fundraising programs to acquire, retain and upgrade new donors, and retain and upgrade existing donors. Key fundraising programs the position is responsible for include Individual Giving, Regular Giving, Foundation website, In-memorials and Grateful Patient programs. Also responsible for strategic leadership of Donor data CRM (Salesforce) and processing and stewarding activities.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Essential

• Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a postgraduate degree with at least five years’ management experience in business development or fundraising.
• Demonstration of strategic fundraising experience, with experience and proven success in Direct Marketing fundraising (especially in Appeals and Regular Giving).
• An ability to demonstrate leadership in the continuous improvement of Donor Engagement, stewardship and development.
• Experience in managing staff.
• Strong budgeting and financial modelling skills.
• Sound knowledge of fundraising legislation, practices and philosophy of charitable giving.
• Sound knowledge of databases (preferably fundraising databases and Salesforce).
• Excellent communication, collaboration and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability for continuous improvement in complex environments.

• Desirable

• CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) or equivalent qualification highly regarded.
• Experience in healthcare philanthropy and experience in creating a culture of philanthropy.
• Qualification in fundraising.
• Membership of the Fundraising Institute of Australia.
