With the focus on growth through quality and innovation, they are seeking a seasoned and inspirational engineer to lead a talented team of fitters and technicians from their modern and well-equipped Melbourne based facility.
As a key leader in the Operations Team, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering operations and facilities maintenance across the site. This will include:
- Day to day leadership of a talented team of qualified fitters and technicians to build and maintain technical excellence in a fast paced, highly responsive environment
- Liaising with cross functional teams to ensure the optimal output across a diverse range of fully and semi-automated equipment
- Managing departmental budgets including working with the COO for recurrent expenditure and on a range of Capex projects
- Championing continuous improvement initiatives, with the focus on innovation in a quality orientated and environmentally sustainable manner
We are seeking an individual who:
- Has relevant qualification in engineering backed by senior management experience in pharmaceutical, food or a similar highly regulated environment
- Demonstrates excellence in managing department budget, allowing for recurrent site maintenance expenditure, equipment repairs and spare part inventory plus the allocation of labour in line with production requirements and customer expectations
- Has clear communication and builds strong and effective relationships with staff, internal and external stakeholders
- Is highly organised with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances with agility and proactive decision making
- Will be a natural problem solver with the ability to encourage input from others as part of a long term development strategy
- Can demonstrate prior success in developing and delivering projects on time and on budget.
