This is your opportunity to join carsales as the Global Head ofRisk and Compliance. In this newly created role the successful candidate will build the global Group Risk and Compliance function, using their technical expertise and strong leadership to deliver great business outcomes. Reporting to the General Counsel and Company Secretary (who sits on the Global Executive Leadership Team), you will help to ensure that the business is well positioned to meet its strategic objectives and work to support a mature compliance culture in which commercial priorities and risk mitigation are well balanced.

Job Description
What you’ll do
Develop and strengthen CAR Group’s existing risk management and Compliance framework, taking ownership of its oversight and continuous improvement to ensure the Group’s compliance with ongoing legislative requirements and best practice.
Provide in-depth, pragmatic expertise across a broad spectrum of business issues and activities to enable the effective assessment, management, monitoring and communication of business risk.
Provide guidance to business decision-makers on the analysis of current or proposed business activities, processes and structures to identify areas of potential loss or damage and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Develop and evaluate policies, processes, and standards to reduce risk, minimise business disruption and ensure business continuity and disaster recovery.
Report to the CAR Group Board’s Risk Management Committee on risk management oversight and the progress of new initiatives.
Collaborate with Internal Audit to ensure that processes are aligned, and controls are operating effectively.
Tackle new challenges in the Risk and Compliance program as the Group evolves.
Identify, engage and attract talent to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Qualifications
What are we looking for?
Someone who demonstrates our behaviours (we change the game, we own it, we step in, we are curious, we don’t take ourselves too seriously)
Proven experience in conducting effective risk management and Compliance programs in a complex business.
Extensive experience in operational risk management practices and programs, having successfully implementing and uplifting risk management activities in the past.
Demonstrated track record of delivering strategic initiatives to enhance risk management.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, able to elicit information and influence stakeholders.
Confident presenting to senior stakeholders and Board committees
