An opportunity to be part of this growth trajectory is the newly created role of Head of Inventory and Logistics. Applications are now invited from experienced Inventory and Logistics professionals for this new senior role within our Australia Sector.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Director our new Head of Inventory and Logistics will have leadership responsibility across the Australia Sector (which include business entities in Australia, Canada, Ashford Kent UK and Germany) for a wide range of Inventory and Logistics functions, including Third Party Logistics (3PL) management, distribution, logistics, transportation, inventory strategy, and supply chain processes. This senior position will provide leadership and deep technical expertise to a growing and varied business, spanning flight operations, manufacturing, engineering and advisory services across the Australia (AUS) sector.
The Head of Inventory and Logistics role will work collaboratively with the Sector leadership and other QinetiQ functional team members to deliver high quality, innovative and intelligence led supply chain Inventory and Logistics for the business across the region and be responsible for:
- Playing a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of products and supporting materials through our supply chain
- Managing inventory end-to-end and developing and deploying strategies, policies, processes and governance mechanisms to minimize write-offs and excess and obsolescence
- Enabling visibility and forecasting of Inventory to ensure optimal flow of materials to deliver on time and budget.
- Refine and develop scalable end-to-end logistics strategies and procedures that enable agile and resilient materials supply
- Leading on the development of key components of a Demand Driven Supply Chain Management (DDSCM) framework to drive strategic value
- Partnering with key cross-functional leaders to include Supply Chain, Operations/Logistics, Business Development as well as external Vendor partners to deliver on all key metrics and strategic objectives.
As an ideal applicant for this senior role, you will need:
- Extensive leadership experience with a strong knowledge of supply chain principles, practices, and technologies, including inventory management, demand planning, procurement, and Logistics.
- Experience in production logistics principles, practices, and technologies, including network and distribution design, node management, stocking and inventory costing management.
- Demonstrated experience with international logistics and experience in working with and implementing procurement and supply chain model in ERP systems
- Demonstrated complex stakeholder management (internal and external) and influencing skills
- The ability to integrate and collaborate across multiple geographical locations, time zones and cultures
- An outcomes focused approach to capability development and uplift through ongoing continuous improvement, coaching and mentoring
- Demonstrated experience in the Import / Export of regulated products
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance or UK equivalent.
With regards to location, we are flexible to consider applicants from locations where a main QinetiQ office is based e.g. Melbourne or Canberra Australia, Ashford/ Farnborough UK or in Dusseldorf Germany.
