About Sydney Fringe

Sydney Fringe is the largest independent arts festival in New South Wales, showcasing diverse and innovative works from over 2000 artists across multiple genres and venues every September. Sydney Fringe aims to celebrate, support, and empower the creative community of Sydney, and to foster a vibrant and inclusive cultural scene.

About the Role

We are looking for a Head of Marketing to lead and oversee the marketing function at Sydney Fringe.

This person will lead the small but mighty marketing team, spearheading the organisations digital marketing transformation, and overseeing the festival’s marketing activity to attract and engage diverse audiences across Sydney, Australia, and the world. The successful candidate will be a passionate people leader, master project manager and digital expert across CRM and eCommerce. This position offers a unique opportunity to showcase your strategic marketing skills, digital expertise, and passion for the arts.

This is a fixed term contract to 31 December 2024 with the opportunity to extend, and at the Fringe we are open to flexible working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

·       Leadership: Setting a clear vision and strategic direction for the marketing team, aligning efforts with the overall goals of Sydney Fringe.

·       Marketing Program Management: Oversee the plannig, execution and delivery of all the festivals marketing projects and campaigns. 

·       Digital Innovation: Spearheading the festival’s digital marketing transformation by leveraging the latest technologies and trends, with a focus on optimising the festival Salesforce CRM and reimagining the festival’s website and ticketing experiences.

·       Digital Marketing: Developing a comprehensive plan for the development of the organisations digital marketing assets, website, ticketing platform and CRM (Salesforce), to ensure constant development to meet current and future needs.

·       Digital Resources: Redressing the allocation of resources, ensuring efficiency by considering the consolidation of suppliers and leveraging digital tools effectively.

·       Marketing Strategy: Establishing a longer-term marketing strategy aligned with the organisation’s vision to deliver efficiency and growth over time.

·       Brand Strategy: Supporting the CEO, festival producers and marketing team in the development and implementation of a comprehensive brand strategy, ensuring consistent representation across all the festival.

·       Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and sponsors to align marketing strategies with the broader organisational goals.

·       Marketing Processes: Streamlining and optimise marketing processes and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

·       People Management: Coaching, monitoring, and guiding all members of the marketing team to create cohesion, goal attainment and career development.

     Qualifications and Experience

·       Proven experience in a senior marketing role, preferably within the cultural or festival sector.

·       Extensive project management experience with a proven track record of leading marketing projects and marketing campaigns.

·       Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills, and the ability to lead a team and work effectively with a diverse and dynamic team and stakeholders.

·       Demonstrated success in developing and implementing comprehensive digital marketing transformations, including website, Salesforce CRM, ticketing or eCommerce platforms and analytics.

·       Creative, innovative, and solution-oriented mindset, and the ability to adapt to changing needs and trends.

·       Passionate, enthusiastic, and committed to the mission, vision and values of Sydney Fringe.
