The Role:
The Head of Merchandising at Ultra Football will be at the forefront of defining and executing our product strategy, ensuring our brand, and product range resonates with our diverse and passionate customer base. This role is about more than just products; it's about curating an experience that connects with our customers' love for football and supports the growth of the game in Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic merchandising plan that aligns with Ultra Football’s mission and business objectives, enhancing our position as the leading football retailer in Australia and beyond.
- Responsibility for overall buying strategy in line with commercial targets and brand budgets.
- Curate a diverse and appealing product range that meets the needs and desires of football fans, from casual supporters to dedicated players.
- Manage inventory levels efficiently, ensuring optimal stock turnover and minimizing overstock through accurate open to buy spend.
- Lead the visual merchandising strategy, ensuring in-store and online presentations capture the essence of the football culture and engage customers effectively.
- Collaborate to create compelling product stories and promotions that drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
- Analyse market trends, customer feedback, and sales data to identify opportunities for product range expansion and improvement.
- Manage key relationships across our brand partners teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in merchandising, ideally within the sports, retail, or lifestyle sectors.
- Extensive experience in developing buying strategies, setting brand budgets and managing open to buy spend.
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills, with a track record of building strong relationships with third party partners.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends to make informed product decisions.
- Creative flair for visual merchandising and creating engaging product displays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners.
- A strong passion for football and an understanding of football culture and the preferences of football fans in Australia.
