The Head of Middle School has direct responsibility for the leadership and day to day management of the Middle School at the Berwick Campus, comprising of approximately 500 students from Years 5 to 8.
Reporting to the Berwick Campus Principal, the successful candidate is responsible for a nurturing environment; one that builds capacity in staff and ensures students navigate these exciting, but often challenging times of dynamic growth, increasing independence and identity formation.
The primary purpose of the role is to:
- promote a positive, dynamic and inclusive culture that builds capacity in all, to grow and aspire for excellence;
- showcase open communication as well as transparent and effective decision in implementing change;
- work proactively and collaboratively, in partnership with colleagues, families and other key stakeholders, to maximise inclusive, personalised learning opportunities for every student.
The successful candidate will have the ability and proven experience to:
- role model a positive approach to change and successfully deliver continuous school improvement;
- leverage their expertise in personalised learning, Middle Schooling and inclusion;
- motivate and engage staff, students and parents and communicate effectively in a range of formal and informal settings, ensuring a climate of support alongside high expectations;
- build and mentor highly effective teams, featuring a commitment to collaborative practice across a multi-campus environment;
- develop, evaluate and implement school strategy and operational plans, procedures and policies.
