Tertiary qualified in Construction, Project Management, Architecture, Quantity Surveying or Engineering along with 8+ years’ experience leading Building Minor Works / Repairs and Major Upgrades within Commercial, Leisure, Federal Government, State Government, Airports and Tertiary Education or similar large diverse portfolios.Why ApplyThis leading multi-national organisation is well-renowned and plays an active role within their Local and Wider State Communities. Having committed to an investment program they require staff to support a range of Minor Replacement Works, Refurbishments and Major Investment Works across VIC, SA & TAS.Base CriteriaIdeally degree-qualified in Architecture, Construction, Project Management, Quantity Surveying or Engineering along with a strong understanding of Facilities Management Minor Works and Capital Investment Projects.Outline Duties
Support and manage the Projects Team in their effective delivery of minor works or refurbishment projects as well as Capex projects across a diverse property portfolio, providing key leadership and direction to staff and contractors.You will be ultimately responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and effective delivery of multiple concurrent building upgrades, capital investment works, and minor projects in accordance with the Building Code of Australia, Statutory Compliance and Industry Best Practice.Skills and Attributes

• Over 10 years’ industry experience, you will have gained at least 8 years Project Management experience within an organisation delivering Minor and Capital Works to a mix of multi-site premises.
• You will have excellent Project Management skills, able to lead project and scope of works briefings with the internal team, Consultants or Contractors, set and agree project timescales and costings.
• You will be able to read and interpret Architectural Drawings and advise on any modifications required.
• Technically capable, responsible for leading relationships with Project Managers overseeing contractors undertaking project works – negotiating and justifying any variations, ensuring delivery to project timeframes and advising Board-level stakeholders of potential delays.
• An excellent communicator, with strong English language skills, you will provide clear and concise instructions, management and direction to direct staff, consultants and contractors; while liaising internally at Director and Board-level.
• Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret and advise on capital works, design, documentation and construction.
• Engaging personality and strong presentation skills – you will be able to network and lead discussions at an executive level, while still working with a variety of interested parties / stakeholders of varying backgrounds and technical awareness.
