Community Living Options has an exciting opportunity for a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join the Clinical Team at our Edwardstown Office and support our "Complex Participant" base!Who we are:

Are you a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner with experience of specialist developmental assessment and intervention programs? We are passionate about the positive impact that we know really high-quality Positive Behaviour Support can have on the lives of participants.We are looking for a PBS Practitioner (Complex Participants) to join our friendly team. You will be ready to move into a role where you can confidently work with a caseload which includes complex and high-risk participants and have the skills and experience to support them to achieve great outcomes. You should be a great communicator and able to develop and foster relationships between the people we support, their families, support workers and others in their network, so that they can achieve positive outcomes and live a great life.You will:
Plan, develop, and deliver a combination of individualised and group interventions for people with high complex needs including mental health.

  • Work with participants who have a higher proportion of either high frequency or high impact restrictive practice and use your expertise to promote their human rights.
  • Share your knowledge and skill and role model best practice within the team.
  • Have an achievable key performance indicator (KPI) in a supportive environment.
  • An understanding of and ability to implement person centred practices.
  • Able to provide expert support and guidance to implementing providers to implement and promote best practice in service delivery.
  • Engage with various stakeholders in the identification and development of least restrictive practices resources in line with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission guidelines.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative practices and programs, reviewing and evaluating progress and outcomes.
  • Facilitate consumer engagement and feedback.
  • Be formally registered with the NDIS Quality Safeguarding Commission as a PBS Practitioner.
To be successful:
You should be registered at a minimum as a core practitioner with at least 1 year post registration experience in a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner role. In addition, you have demonstrated experience supporting people with complex needs and contributing to positive developmental outcomes. Experience in working with people with a forensic and/or complex history will be necessary. A successful candidate will be collaborative and have great interpersonal skills, being able to communicate successfully, in writing and verbally, with both stakeholders and participants. Additionally, you will embrace our person-centred framework by dedicating time to building relationships to truly understand each individual. Therefore, every aspect of their supports is inclusive, accessible and tailored to their specific requirements and preferences.In addition, you will have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Disability & Developmental Education, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Health Science, Master of Psychology, or similar field
  • Experience supporting people living with disabilities/mental health.
  • Current Driver's License
  • DCSI Clearance (Disability-Related)
  • Confidence using IT equipment 'smart device' technology, Windows operating system and Microsoft Office Suite
