Role
Reporting to the CEO and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Quality position will lead the Quality function at the state-of-the-art Truganina based manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for the delivery of a customer centric quality process and long term strategy that meets the Purearth quality system standards.
The Head of Quality will ensure that proactive processes and training is in place to ensure the site and it's people are living quality as a way of life.
Leading a very well functioning team, the ideal candidate will be a driven people leader, who can lead by example technically, as well as nurture an education and development mindset across the team and wider site.
Key responsibilities include;
- Ensure the Quality Management System and Master Quality Schedule is up to date for the requirements of food products for local and export markets.
- Continuously review and improve the QMS process, quality objectives and quality KPI’s.
- Lead and support the business to successfully deliver on regulatory and customer audits.
- Assist in NPD processes.
- Raw material, packaging materials and finished goods are released for manufacture and/or sale as per Purearth and regulatory requirements.
- Manage suppliers for raw materials, packaging materials and services relevant to HAACP and quality aspects.
- Ensure compliance to GMP and HAACP 100% of the time.
- Review and verify that all quality documents have been correctly completed as per the site’s requirements.
- Assist in the leadership of site Safety and Environmental standards.
- Strong working knowledge of HAACP.
- At least 5 years leadership experience within a high care FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Degree in food science, dairy or related discipline.
- Experience in managing people.
- Ability to problem solve proactively and have a solutions based mindset.
- Coaching and supportive work style.
- Willingness to be hands on.
- Experience in improving processes in quality and manufacturing.
- Strong communication skills to work with senior leadership and customers.
