Job Purpose
Location- Pakenham – Moving to new location in Narre Warren in June/July 2024.
The Head of Quality, Compliance & Risk is responsible for managing the quality assurance and compliance operations within the organisation. This role includes managing tasks related to quality management systems, document control, internal and external audits, as well as meeting accreditation and contractual obligations.
Additionally, the Head of Quality, Compliance & Risk plays a crucial role in implementing and maintaining a governance framework, further contributing to the organisation's ongoing sustainability and success.
About You
- Applicants for this role should possess a strong clinical background. A registered nurse is preferred and is essential to effectively oversee and understand the healthcare quality assurance and compliance functions within the organisation.
- Demonstrated understanding of the current trends and practices relating to the delivery of services to people with disabilities.
- Demonstrate a working style that finds purpose and pleasure in the use of tenacity and enablement.
- Demonstrated understanding of Quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop, monitor and maintain records and write objective reports on a range of issues.
- Ability to use initiative and operate effectively in emergency situations.
- Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a wide range of staff, participants and as relevant their families, external service providers, advocacy services and Departmental representatives
Key Criteria/ Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the quality and Risk management systems to ensure the operational audits are undertaken to maintain relevant accreditations and achieve Compliance and continuous improvement with relevant service standards.
- Operationalise the mechanisms that ensure participants are protected from any form of violence, abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation and report any concerns. Where concerns are raised, an employee at this level has an obligation to act upon these concerns in accordance with the Organisation’s Participant and Child Protection Policy.
- Manage the Organisations’ Quality and Risk Management database to maximise the efficient collection of statistical reporting requirements consistently.
- Follow allocated work plans developed in consultation with the Senior Leadership Team.
- This position is responsible for the ongoing development and management of the Organisation’s Quality Management System.
- Provide high level written reports, investigation outcomes and relevant action documents.
- Implement and maintain effective staff communication which is representative of the QMS Team.
- Design organisation processes to create and update policies and procedures in line with compliance requirements.
- Maintain expert knowledge of matters relating to the National Quality and Safeguarding Framework that impact disability service providers and NDIS participants.
- Identify hazards and control risks in the workplace; and implement Workplace Health and Safetyplans.
- Coordinate remedial action associated with audit and investigation findings.
