We have an opportunity for an experienced, engaging and suitably qualifiedHead of Visual Art and Design to join our team, teaching Early Learning Centre through to VCE. This is a full-time, ongoing position commencing in Term 2, 2024.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be skilled across all areas of the art curriculum and have experience working with a range of media.
The primary purpose of the position is to ensure the establishment of explicit high standards for learning and teaching. The Head of Visual Art and Design will be committed to the implementation of best teaching practice and learning programs which meet the needs of every learner. The Head of Visual Art and Design will lead with vision, fostering cohesion as they work across teams to engage in and develop teaching strategies which have a high impact on student learning and growth. They will drive curriculum development within this learning area whilst working collaboratively with other Heads of Department to actively explore cross-curricular links and engaging content.
As a member of the School leadership team, they will engage in the development of a shared understanding of outstanding leadership practices and proactively seek feedback in order to reflect on and grow their leadership skills.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to best practice in teaching and a goal-oriented and evidence-based approach to improving student learning outcomes. We are looking for an individual who exhibits a learning disposition in relation to all aspects of this position, striving for continuous improvement in addition to bringing the required skills and experience.
What we're looking for:
- Experience working in a similar position.
- Experience in teaching Art Creative Practice
- Experience in teaching Visual Communication Design.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability to support and interact with a range of stakeholders including students, parents, staff and the wider school community.
- Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team with a high level of professionalism.
- Competent in the use of Information Communication Technology and Arts-related design applications.
- Supportive of the values and teachings of the Christian tradition.
