About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Wine to lead our wine program and elevate our offerings across all venues. The primary objectives of this role are to exceed revenue and COGs targets, develop a strong wine culture, recruit and develop wine talent, and ensure consistency and excellence in our wine offerings.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain group wine lists that showcase diversity and quality
- Oversee group wine purchasing to ensure optimal selection and cost-effectiveness
- Manage overall wine COGS and revenue targets, exceeding expectations where possible
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing wine team
- Coordinate wine team bandwidth and ensure effective staffing levels
- Implement comprehensive wine training programs to enhance knowledge and culture
- Establish and uphold group wine standards to deliver exceptional guest experiences
- Drive House Made Wine production initiatives and partnerships
- Cultivate strategic wine partnerships. Coordinate and host wine events
- Maintain strong relationships with wine suppliers and negotiate favourable terms
- Manage wine Operating Supplies & Equipment (OS&E) inventory and procurement
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a senior group wine role within the hospitality industry
- Demonstrated expertise on natural-leaning and modern wine list curation
- Extensive knowledge of Wines and wine regions, coupled with a passion for wine culture
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding revenue and COGs targets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships
- Strategic mindset with the ability to innovate and drive continuous improvement
- Flexibility to travel between venues as needed
- Passion for all beverages and experiences
- Adaptable to assist in FOH, Events, Marketing and Operations
