Belgravia Leisure and City Of Sydney Aquatic Club are seeking a full time Head Swim Coach to provide support to the Director of Swimming with the view to achieving the best possible results at a Local Community, and NSW State level. Targeting to build a strong pathway for all swimmers.
The Role
Belgravia Leisure and City Of Sydney Aquatic Club are seeking a full time Head Swim Coach to provide support to the Director of Swimming. With a view of achieving the best possible results at a Local Community and NSW State level, targeting to build a strong pathway for all swimmers.
While you will lead and manage the team of Squad Coaches, you will coach the performance and the junior talent identification squad.
This is a full time position with the hours spread across face to face coaching, administration and carnivals. The role requires flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills and organisation.
The position will be based across 3 of the City of Sydney Pools (Gunyama Park, Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre and Gunyama Park.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring training plans are in place for all assigned levels, including land based activities
- Seasonal progress of athletes
- Attend targeted swim meets, training sessions, clinics and conferences
- Attend all club race nights/days
- In conjunction with the Director of Swimming contribute to teams selections for competition
- Consult with coaching team for advancement through the squad pathways
- Contribution to the coordination of seasonal meet calendar
- Squad enquiry management
- Be available to conduct assessments of new swimmers, in consultation with the Director of Swimming
- Adhere to squad policies and procedures
- Complete daily attendance records
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- ASTCA Teacher of Competitive Swimming or Development (previously Silver) accreditation or higher
- Previous proven experience in a coaching role up to competitive levels
- Working with Children
- National Police Clearance
- Current First Aid and CPR
Experience
- Competitive Swimmer Background
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Understanding and capability to Coach also Open Water events
- Ability to operate Hy-Tek Meet Manager and Swim Central
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification
- Pool Lifeguard Award
- Certificate III or IV in Fitness
- Human Movement / Coaching / Exercise / Sports Science Degree
- Performance Swimming Coach Accreditation
