Job Description
In this role, you'll report directly to the Station Manager and play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the station. Collaborating closely with the Station Manager, your responsibilities will include coordinating, leading, and training a small team in various station activities.
We're looking for a positive, people-oriented individual with leadership experience. Managing a team of 5-6, your expertise in livestock handling, horsemanship, and motorbike skills is crucial. Strong communication (both oral and written), leadership, and attention to detail are key attributes. Safety is paramount in all aspects of your work.
As someone reliable, honest, and passionate about working with both people and cattle, you should feel comfortable working independently and within a team. Maintaining neat and tidy living standards is essential, as Wylarah Station is a flagship for our company.

Your Responsibilities:
- Manage, lead, and mentor station livestock staff, fostering strong communication.
- Ensure livestock welfare according to Industry Standards and AACo Animal Welfare Policy.
- Plan and implement animal husbandry programs.
- Maintain accurate livestock records for the company's information system.
- Contribute to planning and implementing maintenance and improvement programs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the station's environmental and natural resources.
- Minimum 2+ years of team leadership experience.
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, Excel) & experience with Stockmate, Livestock recording systems, or similar.
- Extensive experience in cattle herd, pasture, and water management.
- Excellent cattle handling, horse-riding, and motorbike skills.
- Sound working knowledge of on-station activities, including water, fencing, construction, machinery, and stockmanship.
- Knowledge of market specifications and ability to draft cattle accordingly.
- Familiarity with Livestock Production Assurance Cattle Care Quality Assurance Program.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a mature problem-solving approach.
- Current Driver's License (Heavy vehicle license preferred).
- Firearms License (Class A and B).
