About the Role: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Safety Professional to play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our employees and compliance with all relevant safety requirements. Based at the Port Melbourne site, you will support operations in fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring adherence to safety systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive Health and Safety plans for the site.
- Foster a "Safety First" culture through training, awareness programs, and active engagement.
- Conduct risk assessments, monitor compliance, and ensure adherence to policies and legislation.
- Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor activities to maintain ISO 45001 certification.
- Collaborate with Managers to address safety concerns.
- Analyse data and report safety KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
- Prior experience in safety management, ideally in a blue-collar and unionized environment.
- Proven ability to develop policies, procedures, training materials, and other safety documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and collaboration.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant safety legislation and procedures.
- Experience delivering on-site safety training to all levels of the organisation.
- Qualifications in OHS, ICAM Lead investigation (preferable), Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and Lead Auditor in ISO 45001.
