The Role: 

Under the supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse, provides delegated aspects of patient care. Elements of direct and indirect patient care will be delegated in accordance with the professional judgement of the supervising Registered Nurse and within the limitations specified by their educational and qualification standards, Hospital policies and guidelines and EBA Grade classification.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential

• Qualification: Certificate III in Health Service Assistance or equivalent or willingness to work towards attainment of qualification
• Ability to prioritise work and exercise discretion within established policies, guidelines and procedures
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team
• A willingness to contribute to quality patient care
• Well-developed interpersonal skills, including an ability to communicate effectively with other staff, patients and families
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
• Commitment to a professional work ethic

Desirable

• Previous experience working in an acute healthcare setting
