Cockburn ARC is progressing an $8 million expansion to the Health Club in 2024, with the successful candidate key to driving the future fitness service and programming delivery in the 1500+sqm gym.
The Position

Team ARC is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic individual with a passion for delivering & supervising a range of diverse and innovative fitness programs and services including: fitness appraisals, programs and reviews, gym floor functional classes and small group training, youth, teen and Seniors programming, whilst working in close collaboration with the Group Fitness portfolio to provide an exceptional fitness experience.

With a strong background of innovative fitness programming and passion for health and fitness for youth through to older adults, you will be providing engaging and educational offerings for our Cockburn ARC community. You understand the importance of being physically active to lead a healthier and happier life and lowering risk of chronic diseases and are motivated to positively impact the community to exceed their expectations surrounding their health, fitness and wellbeing goals. You will be savvy with digital fitness systems and customer relationship management, troubleshooting members concerns and looking at better ways to engage members and our community on their fitness journey.
You’re a great leader and team player
You’re someone who supports your team through on the job training, coaching, and managing team performance, whilst driving the gym portfolio to be best practise across everything we do. You will be the first escalation point for the gym team, liaising with members and customers, to provide outstanding customer experience, driving retention and new acquisitions.
You will liaise with the Senior Health Club Team Leader, Group Fitness Team Leader, and Memberships to ensure alignment with strategy and policies and procedures are consistent and effective across the organisation.
To become the Health Club Supervisor, you will:
- Have experience in individual and small group fitness programming and customer service,
- Be an innovative leader with experience rostering, supervising and working with a team of fitness professionals in a fitness environment
- Have an understanding of the recreation and leisure industry, and the challenges frontline staff face in this environment.
- Be a creative, positive and driven personality to improve processes and innovate in an ever-changing fitness industry, always leading by example.
- Have a passion for personal and professional development of self and team
- Possess excellent customer service and people skills.
- Possess developed interpersonal and communication skills especially conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Have experience working in a close team environment and ability to help the whole team succeed.
- Have strong computer skills, the ability to adapt to new technology and troubleshoot and train others on systems.
- Have a proven ability to work and perform in a high paced, active environment.
- Be energetic and vibrant.

Salary: $78,894.07-$84,150.64 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience, plus superannuation up to 15% and Cockburn ARC facility membership
Days/Hours: Full time (76 hours/fortnight), with some flexibility required to work early and later shifts over weekdays and occasional weekends.
