About our role
Northern Star has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor to ensure all company and contracting personnel are educated and supported in understanding their safety responsibilities at our world-class Carosue Dam Operations.
This opportunity is offered on an 8 day on 6 day off days only roster FIFO from Perth.
Here's what awaits you:
- Conducting or participating in risk assessments, audits and inspections of site work activities and conditions, including high risk tasks and shutdown activity
- Conducting Active Field Leadership interactions and supporting site with the program
- Providing an advisory and supportive role to Department Heads into WHS legislative matters, inclusive of compliance, incident/accident investigation processes and reporting requirements
- Actively monitoring and reporting employee and contractor performance against Northern Star's Group Critical Risk & Principal Hazard Standards
- Monitoring the completion of recommendations and actions from incident investigations, inspections and audits in INX, including inputting data, producing reports and managing the action register
- The facilitation and coordination of the site Safety Committee meetings
- Assisting with the incident investigation process and supporting the, drafting and presentation of accident/incident and reports
- Assisting with the provision of daily, weekly, monthly reports including statutory reports for DMIRS
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role
- ERT Experience including training courses in: Firefighting, Breathing apparatus, Vertical Rescue, Underground BG4, Hazmat, Road Crash Rescue, Confined Space rescue
- Experience in a similar role within the Gold Mining
Qualifications
- Cert IV WHS or similar
- Cert IV Training and Assessment
- Current Australian driver's license
