We’re changing the way Australia generates its energy, are you ready for a change?The ProjectUGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink’s delivery of CopperString 2032. This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland’s Northwest Minerals Province to the national electricity grid. The project scope includes:
- 500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden
- 330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry
- 220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa
- up to six new substation sites.
Please note this role will initially be based in Brisbane, with transition into a site delivery role requiring DIDO/FIFO or relocation where additional allowances will apply. Townsville based applicants would be highly considered.
The OpportunityMonitor and support the safety function under general supervision and provide support and coordination of safety practices, systems, and procedures on a project with a particular focus on Training and associated administration.
Key Responsibilities:· Establish and maintain Training needs analysis (TNA) associated with UGL/CPB JV system requirements and software interfaces· Manage the project induction/onboarding management system· Establish and maintain project compliance with verification of competency requirements for UGL and Subcontractor personnel.· Support the maintenance of the project training matrix· Support all project training records· Conduct safety and operational training in relation to TNA requirements for the project where required· Develop specific training packages for identified high risk areas as required· Review and monitor training to ensure desired outcomes are achieved· Liaise with RTOs in relation to booking, executing and monitoring training outcomes along with maintaining records· Run regular reports to ensure competencies are current· Deliver training courses to meet business needs· Develop and implement an audit plan to suit the business, including subcontractors· Conduct audits and complete audit reports· Monitor corrective actions / non-conformances associated with audits to close out· Review system processes where deficiencies are identified through audits· Complete monthly reports· Monitor alignment with legal and client training obligations, providing advice to Project Managers, supervisors and projects/sites on changes or emerging trends that could impact the successful delivery of work.
Qualification/Experience- Certificate IV in Training
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Training Coordinator in a high-risk industry (Project Construction Desirable).
- Demonstrated capability in implementing and managing project training requirements.
- Experience in civil and earth moving mobile plant and equipment desirable.
- Experience in training auditing and assurance program requirements.
- Developed report writing ability and confident in the application of the suite of Microsoft applications.
- Strong communication skills (Oral and Written).
The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.Where applicable, evidence of tertiary qualifications and proof of right to work will be required prior to successful appointment.
