Your opportunity

Are you passionate about promoting health, safety, and Wellbeing in the workplace? Do you have excellent organisational and communication skills? Redland City Council is seeking a dedicated and proactive Health, Safety and Wellbeing Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will support the Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Unit in the administration and coordination of HSW-related training, maintenance of HSW data and information, and provide administrative support for the Unit's day-to-day operations.

Guided by our Values, you will:

  • Coordinate and provide administrative support for HSW training programs, occupational health and Wellbeing initiatives, fostering a positive organisational culture. 
  • Assist in data entry, compilation, and extraction of HSW information to evaluate performance across Council operations. Manage financial aspects such as raising purchase requisitions, processing creditor invoices and budget reporting. 
  • Establish effective relationships with stakeholders, providing assistance and advice to promote HSW services.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service utilising your expectional stakeholder management skills. 
  • Develop personal skills and knowledge in HSW systems and processes to ensure continuous improvement in customer service.
  • Stay updated with changes in HSW systems and processes, contributing to a team-based approach to meet objectives.

What you’ll bring

  • Highly developed administrative skills with the ability to work effectively as a team member in a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Unit. Please note prior experience within a Health and Safety team is not essential. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues and build trusted relationships with various stakeholders. 
  • Experience in supporting change and improvement initiatives through coordination of training or organisational culture programs.
  • Proficiency in using IT software systems and programs for information processing and record maintenance.
  • Excellent computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial transaction requirements, demonstrated by experience in purchase ordering and budget monitoring.
