Job description

About Us:

Redland is headquartered in Brisbane and grows, harvests, packs and markets citrus, pome fruit, table grapes, stone fruit and kiwifruit which are produced on our farms in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia. Redland is Australian-owned with a vision of being the producer of the world’s most desired fruit. Our purpose is to relentlessly invest in producing better quality fruit to meet this vision: everybody, every decision, every day.

People make our business and we want our people to embody the Redland Values:

Make it happen: We take action. We are direct and frank. We plan ahead and deliver on time. We never give up

Built to last from the ground up: We are detail oriented. We think in decades, not years. We look for opportunities. We do it right first time.

Win as a team: We select and build our team for the long term. We put the team first and celebrate the wins. We hold each other accountable. We turn up prepared and ready.

Never satisfied: We ask why and challenge the status quo. We are continuously improving. We believe yesterdays’ success is todays minimum standard. We are always learning.

We love it: We take pride in everything. We let our passion drive us. We have a good time. We make every day count.

About the Role:

The Safety Systems Coordinator will be a pivotal force in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment at Redland. In this newly created and dynamic role, the Safety Systems Coordinator will review and update safety documents, including procedures, policies, and safe work practices. Responsibilities will include conducting thorough audits and inspections to ensure adherence to relevant regulations and safety standards. Additionally, the successful applicant will develop, coach, and mentor managers and staff in Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), using positive reinforcement techniques to foster a culture of safety.

The Safety Systems Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the Redland Operations safety plan and assisting in the development and delivery of comprehensive safety training programs. Reporting directly to the Group Safety Manager, you will also have the opportunity to develop your safety skills and knowledge acting as second in charge as directed to support our safety initiatives.  This role will include ad hoc travel to Redland sites, so the successful candidate must have the ability to travel interstate on occasion.

This role is suited to candidates with a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, and applicants with Certificate IV in Training and Assessment are highly regarded.  Successful candidates will have extensive knowledge of legislative requirements across multiple states and territories and at least three years of experience managing a safety management system. Your exceptional communication and influencing skills, combined with your organisational abilities and flexibility, will make you an ideal fit for this role. Proficiency in project management, database management, and online safety reporting systems is essential.

If you are passionate about safety and have the skills and experience to drive our safety initiatives effectively, we invite you to submit your application including your resume and a brief cover letter today telling us why you are the best person for this role. We will be contacting candidates with the right experience as we receive their applications. In anticipation of a high volume of applicants, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. (We hope you understand!)

We hire great people from all walks of life with a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger.

We are seeking a committed individual for this important role. Only candidates seeking permanent, full-time employment need apply. Candidates must also be entitled to work in Australia on a full-time basis.  Interviews are now open - please don't delay!
