  • $96,365 per annum (plus super and RDO) - hybrid working

We are on the lookout for a dedicated and proactive HSW Project Officer to join us to continue to improve health and safety outcomes across Council.
 
About the role

Our small and collaborative HSW team are part of the wider People, Culture and Development department and work across the organisation to ensure HSW is front of mind and embedded in all we do. The HSW Project Officer:

  • Is a trusted advisor promoting advice and support to all levels of leadership.
  • Makes a significant contribution to culture by working with leaders to identify opportunities to improve health and safety for all teams.
  • Focuses on specific areas of HSW risk identified as trends or emerging trends for Council including manual handing, slips, trips and falls, and occupational violence.
  • Implements projects and actions to improve health and safety.
  • Increases understanding of reporting, investigations and corrective action processes.
  • Actively supports leaders to meet their workplace health and safety obligations.


About you 
This is a great opportunity to grow your HSW career! You bring:

  • Qualification in Health and Safety or other relevant discipline or relevant experience, with an ability to understand and interpret the requirements of OHS Legislation.
  • Demonstrated capacity to build strong relationships, work collaboratively and enhance stakeholder relationships.
  • Proactive and resourceful approach in identifying and improving health and safety practices. 
  • Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing targeted HSW solutions, including policies, procedures and training, across diverse workforces, industries and risk profiles.
  • Familiarity with risks associated with manual handling, slips, trips and falls, and occupational violence.

Employment Requirements

  • All City of Boroondara employees must be fully vaccinated. Appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to provision of evidence of vaccination status or medical exemption prior to commencement.
