CleanCo is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Specialist to support our operational sites at Barron Gorge Hydro Power Station in Cairns and Kareeya Hydro Power Station in Tully. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and advice to stakeholders across CleanCo’s sites, ensuring the implementation of health and safety policies, standards, frameworks, and systems. The Health & Safety Specialist will lead in the development of CleanCo’s compliance, regulatory, and other health and safety management systems. This role can be based at either Barron Gorge Hydro Power Station or Kareeya Hydro Power Station, and will require travel to the other site, and includes a mix of working on site and from home. About you
To be successful in this role you will have: Demonstrated experience applying health and safety best practice in the power generation and/or heavy industry. Proven experience in the development of compliance, regulatory and health and safety management systems. Strong influencing and stakeholder skills to implement health and safety policies, standards, frameworks across multiple operations sites. Experience in managing and operating safe control of work systems in a high-risk environment. Ability to apply legislation and regulatory requirements and have developed new processes and tools for management of site-based risks. Tertiary degree in Workplace Health & Safety, Occupational Health Sciences, or a related discipline. AIHS certification, ICAM Lead Investigator Certification, and Health and Safety Auditing Certification will be highly regarded.
