Now is your opportunity to be part of the Pillow Talk Fabric, by joining us in this highly exciting newly created Workplace Health and Safety Specialist role based at our enviable brand new Darra Head Office. As a Safety and Wellbeing Specialist at Pillow Talk, you’ll be responsible for supporting with all aspects of operational Health and Safety and continuing to make Pillow Talk a safe and people focused place to work.
A bit about the role ...
- Supporting leaders with all operational safety activities, including risk management, and the maintenance of all safety documentation
- Leading all safety incident investigations, supporting leaders to ensure that all incidents are well understood, with clear root cause analysis, and that all outcomes and actions are managed and tracked
- Seeking out opportunities to support and educate leaders on WH&S practises, focusing on empowering all leaders to manage their safety obligations
- Working with the Head of People and Culture, supporting with the build and deployment of strategic WH&S goals
- Providing pragmatic Health and Safety advice and recommendations that are aligned with our organisation and industry standards, and always put our people first
- Regularly monitoring the regulatory environment, ensuring that any changes in relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice and/or any other governance requirements is captured, reviewed and shared as appropriate
- Reviewing all hazard management activity (including psychosocial) to ensure that a current risk register is maintained
- Working with leaders to instil a continuous improvement and recognition based culture with regard to safety activities, focusing on evolution of capability
A bit about you...
- Experience within a Health and Safety operational role at the specialist level, ideally within the retail sector (or similar)
- Degree/diploma or equivalent experience in WH&S, with standalone experience desirable
- Thorough understanding of employment and WH&S legislation (nationally)
- Ability to coach business leaders on Health and Safety related matters including incident management, risk assessments, Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs), and injury management
- Contemporary thinker, and dynamic in your approach to handing a broad range of WH&S activities
- An influencer who is highly personable, confident and with an outstanding ability to develop interpersonal relationships across the business
