Role purpose
The Health and Wellbeing Business Partner will coach and work within the business to provide health and wellbeing case management to ill and injured employees. This role will also partner with the business to apply health and wellbeing specialist knowledge identifying trends and implement initiatives to reduce and prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.
Please note this is an initial two year fixed term contract until March 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the business to provide specialist injury management support and build health and wellbeing capability in relation to workers compensation, early intervention programs, return to work and injury management
- Partner with the Business and People Organisation & Development functions to; - ensure consistent and effective injury management and return to work advice and strategies (including payroll processing) are delivered to facilitate employee recovery and return to work; proactively manage workers compensation claims to improve performance and reduce financial cost to the organisation
- Oversee Work-cover and non-Work-cover injury management plans, claims reviews and assessments ensuring there is documentation of the return-to-work process as per legislative requirements
- Partner with the Vicinity’s Workers Compensation Insurers to provide best practice claims management
- Monitor and provide regular updates to management on injury management, workers compensation claims and scheme performance to enable reviews against key performance indicators
- Develop and promote injury management strategies that focus on early recovery and return to work, including developing and implementing fitness for duty and early intervention programs
- Liaise with Workplace Relations and PoD Business Partners on matters relating to fitness for work assessments and early intervention strategies
- Apply health and well being knowledge to identify trends and implement initiatives to reduce and prevent workplace injuries and illnesses
Capability and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in providing specialist advice and support to managers and employees on health and well being, worker’s compensation, early intervention programs and injury management.
- Extensive knowledge of worker’s compensation legislation and a demonstrated experience of working at or with an insurer to manage complex claims and reduce premium costs.
- Ability to develop and sustain strong and effective partnerships with others, including external stakeholders, and to influence and negotiate to produce quality outcomes and to contribute to strategic objectives.
- Strong analytical and project management skills that can be applied in the context of both partnering activities and supporting strategic project implementation
- Ability to analyse data sets and provide insights to management to enable reviews of health, safety and well being performance indicators
- Good collaboration capabilities with a customer focus to ensure that HSEW standards and programs are developed and delivered
