The Opportunity
The Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre (MAC) is seeking an appropriately qualified and suitably experienced Health & Wellness Team Leader to provide day-to-day coordination of the health and wellness area including the implementation of agreed policies, procedures, services and employees' supervision. In addition to this, you will also be responsible for motivating and leading the Health and Wellness teams to develop a strong culture of customer service excellence and achievement of business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that the highest standards of public supervision and safety are carried out in the conduct of all health and fitness programs and activities
- Ensure systems are in place for all employees to be providing accurate information to customers on the areas programs, facilities, services and products
- Coordinate health and fitness staff to ensure that Health Club and program instruction is conducted in an effective, efficient and responsive manner, with the target being to offer the highest standards of instruction and education in wellness, health and fitness programs
- Provide supervision and direction to employees within the Health and Fitness teams
- Implement appropriate training and skills development for employees including introductory, ongoing and refresher training
- Working with the Centre Services Coordinator, recruit, induct and train sufficient employees to meet service level requirements
- Develop and implement rosters to meet service level requirements.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have the following:
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Health and Fitness
- Current registration with appropriate Fitness Industry registration authority
- Certificate 3 and IV in Fitness or equivalent
- Relevant experience leading and motivating large staff teams
- Experience working in a busy Health Club environment implementing programs, class instruction and exercise prescription
- Senior First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003)
- Resuscitation Certificate. (HLTAID009)
- Current Working with Children Check - Employment version
- No relevant criminal record found in a Police Check.
