Organisational ProfileGEGAC is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation based on Gunaikurnai Country in Bairnsdale, Victoria. Consisting of about 160 staff, GEGAC is a Not for Profit organisation that delivers holistic services in the areas of Primary Health, Social Services, Elders & Disability and Early Childhood Education.GEGAC is a child safe agency and has a zero tolerance of abuse or neglect of children and young people.Position PurposeAs the Healthcare Revenue, Development, and Donor Relations Coordinator, you'll lead efforts to ensure the financial sustainability of our healthcare programs while fostering crucial relationships with donors and community partners. Your responsibilities span clinical coding and revenue administration, economic growth and grant writing, Donor Relations, and community engagement.In clinical coding and revenue management, you'll ensure accurate coding, contributing to revenue optimisation and compliance with Australian standards. In development and grant writing, your focus will be cultivating Donor Relationships, crafting compelling proposals, and diversifying funding sources to support our purpose-driven work. Additionally, you'll oversee donor communications and events, fostering meaningful engagement and appreciation for donor support.This role requires a blend of technical expertise in coding, strategic thinking in fundraising, and strong interpersonal skills to effectively support our healthcare initiatives and build enduring partnerships within our community.Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated proficiency in accurately assigning diagnosis and intervention codes using the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, 10th Revision, Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM), the Australian Classification of Health Interventions (ACHI), and Australian Coding Standards (ACS)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in coding primary healthcare services using the International Classification of Primary Care (ICPC) system and familiarity with the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) for accurate billing and reimbursement
  • Experience using quality management systems to support the management of quality, safety and risk, including performance and compliance monitoring and business improvement
  • Solid understanding of revenue management principles within healthcare and experience with revenue cycle management systems and processes
  • Proven track record in grant writing and fundraising, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and secure funding from diverse sources. Experience in donor cultivation, stewardship, and relationship management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with donors, funding partners, and stakeholders. Experience in donor communications, including crafting thank-you letters, newsletters, and other correspondence
  • Thorough attention to detail in coding and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with coding standards and regulations. Experience participating in documentation queries, audits, and compliance programs
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of cultural nuances and sensitivity in healthcare delivery, alongside a proven track record in providing culturally appropriate care, engaging diverse communities in fundraising and Donor Relations efforts, and demonstrating effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people respectfully and sensitively.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, particularly in Aboriginal health and cultural competency
Qualifications and Registrations Requirement (Essential or Desirable).
  • Valid Driver’s License ESSENTIAL
  • A degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health, or a related discipline. ESSENTIAL
  • A satisfactory Working with Children Check and Fit2Work Police Check ESSENTIAL
  • A person of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander background DESIRABLE
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccinated to align with mandatory vaccination directive applying to authorised workers ESSENTIAL
