At the Workplace Injury Commission, we've helped thousands of injured workers and employers to resolve their disputes and move forward with their lives. We're a robust Victorian Government statutory authority that's making an impact.
As we continue on an exciting journey with the Arbitration service, we need you to join us as a Hearing Support Officer. In this role you will provide case management and Hearing Support to our Arbitration Officers, parties to disputes and other stakeholders.
Together with other Hearing Support Officers, and Case Support Officers you will help deliver and maintain a consistent and high-quality administration and support service. You will bring your unique perspectives and expertise to help turn our proud legacy into a bright future.
With integrity, diligence and a collaborative mindset, you will:
- Provide case management support to our Arbitration Officers and manage the arbitration service process
- Be the primary contact for parties to a dispute and their representatives
- Provide procedural advice, guidance and information relating to the arbitration process and the conduct of hearings
- Obtain all relevant information, comprehensively understand the disputes you manage, and follow up with parties to ensure hearings run smoothly and efficiently
Who we're looking for:
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Experience providing administrative support and case management to multiple stakeholders within a service-oriented legal environment (e.g. Tribunal, Court, legal practice etc.) or similar
- Client service experience, particularly working with vulnerable people from diverse backgrounds with complex needs
- Well-developed analytical and decision-making skills with the capacity to understand and apply legislation, policy and procedure
- Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills and along with the ability to identify appropriate solutions to problems
- Willingness to develop mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships based on trust and reciprocity with internal and external stakeholders
