About the Role
Support the values and strategic priorities of St Vincent’s Hospital.
Provide excellence in the delivery of clinical service in the discipline of Cardiology.
Support St Vincent’s Hospital teaching, research, and clinical governance programs.
Classifications for this position will be dependent upon years Specialist experience.
Your Contribution
Lead, Coordinate and participate in the Hospital’s Heart Failure program.
Collaborate with General Medicine, Hospital in the Home and the Health independence program (HIP) to support care of Heart Failure patients across the health service.
Assume responsibility for clinical care of allocated patients and participate in setting the standards for high quality clinical practice within the Department.
Assist in the supervisor and training of the Cardiology Junior Medical staff.
Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain.

About Cardiology
The Cardiology Unit provides tertiary cardiac care to over 28,000 patients per annum. SVHM Cardiology works closed with the SVHM cardiac surgery unit. The Cardiology Unit offer a wide range of catherterisation laboratory services including a structural heart disease program. This includes 2500 cath lab case patients per annum 20,0000 outpatients services per annum at the St Vincent’s Heart Centre and public outpatients clinics. It also offers transthoracic echocardiograms, stress echoes, pacemaker testing and ambulatory blood pressure and ECG monitoring. There are 3000 cardiology admissions per annum to its coronary care unit (CCU) and general cardiology beds. The St Vincent’s Cardiology Unit provides high level, multidisciplinary, complex care to a wide variety of patients with special expertise in the management of patients with acute coronary syndromes, Heart Failure, cardiac arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, lipid disorders and sports cardiology
