Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (Diesel Fitter) Apprenticeship The Opportunity Partnered with our host RoadTek, we have two full-time positions available for Heavy Plant Diesel Mechanic Apprentices looking to get their hands on the tools, while completing a AUR31220 Certificate III in Heavy Mobile Plant Technology. Job Details You will be working alongside experienced tradespeople, and responsible for quality service and maintenance while assisting in the repair of fixed plant and earthmoving equipment. Your duties will be varied, such as working on different engines, transmissions, fuel systems, brakes, suspension units, ignition and electrical systems, as well as being involved in safety and roadworthy inspections. You will be mentored by industry professionals while completing a blend of on-the-job training and theory coursework. Your duties will include, however not limited to: Carry out maintenance, fault finding, diagnostics and repairs Conduct quality repairs and maintenance in a timely and safe manner Liaise with supervisors and schedulers to ensure jobs are completed within allocated time frames Maintain suitable work practices with a proven record and ability to follow all safety policies and procedures About You You must have excellent communication skills and be ready and willing to undertake physical work in indoor and outdoor settings. We are seeking candidates who are team players, and have the ability to work away.
