About us

Merrimac Park is a 96 bed modern, yet well-established Gold Coast Aged Care Service, offering high-quality levels of accommodation and privacy. The service is set amongst privately owned acreage, located just minutes from Central Gold Coast with the Robina Hospital and Robina Town Centre Shopping Centre.

The Clinical Review Coordinator, in consultation with the Head of Care, Clinical Nurses and the multidisciplinary team, provides clinical documentation review and oversight to the facility. The CRC works collaboratively with all levels of management, clinicians, carers, residents, families, support staff and relevant community agencies to facilitate an effective resident focused service.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum three years’ Registered Nurse experience in a Residential Aged Care setting
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge and understanding of AN-ACC instrument, assessment, care planning, and validation procedures. 
  • A strong commitment to excellence and continuous quality improvement with a sound working knowledge of quality principles and accreditation. 
  • Strong working knowledge of continuous improvement and the Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Current Practicing Registration with AHPRA.
  • Dementia qualifications and experience will be highly regarded
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with a “Can do ” attitude
  • High level of computer literacy including use of clinical software
  • Current national police certificate
  • Current drivers licence
  • Must be an Australian Citizen or a Permanent Resident or hold a valid work visa

Tasks & responsibilities

The CRN is responsible for, but not limited to:

• To oversee the aged care home’s relationship with AN-ACC assessors and ensure the home presents complete resident information to assessors which will achieve the best funding outcome.
• To identify changes in consumer care needs and facilitate opportunities for reassessment, review, or appeal of resident funding assessments.
• To identify training requirements for care staff in relation to record keeping which will improve funding outcomes.
• To estimate the AN-ACC classification for potential admissions and liaise with the Centre Manager to determine suitability for admission.
• To be involved during the resident admission process, to ensure key care requirements are being documented by staff and the admission requirements for the consumer are being identified correctly.
• To manage and direct the care plan reviews for each consumer according to the scheduled timeframe and guidelines and report these to the Head of Care during a weekly clinical meeting
• To coordinate the monthly clinical audits required in relation to both the QPS Benchmarking and the National Quality Indicators programs in conjunction with the Head of Care and Centre Manager.

This role is permanent part time, offering 24 hours per week with the option to pick up additional Registered Nurse shifts if desirable.
