Proquip is seeking to recruit an energetic, experienced and trade qualified Field Services Mechanic (Heavy Diesel Machinery) to join our Field Services Team working throughout the South Eastern suburbs and the Gippsland region.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest levels of service to our clients in the Gippsland and South Eastern areas while being part of a wider Field Services Team operating across the State.
The role of the Field Service Mechanic is critical in providing in-field routine servicing, maintenance, and technical support to customers. You will carry out repairs, maintenance, compliance inspections, and routine servicing on a range of plant, equipment, trucks, trailers, and attachments, while working autonomously on customer sites. So your customer service, problem resolution skills and professionalism will b critical to your success in the role.
You will have strong attention to detail, developed diagnosis knowledge and great communication skills which will keep you working closely with the Field Services Manager and . Field Services Advisor. You will have excellent attention to detail and be diligent in time recording to provide accuracy in total machine ownership costs when populating work orders.
Your daily duties will include;
- Mechanical repairs, and routine service work,
- Hydraulic repairs.
- Diagnosis of faults.
- Part requests.
- Basic auto electrical understanding and repair.
- Compliance inspections and inspection sheet population.
- Digital work order population, time recording, parts, and oil recording.
- Welding and fabrication duties.
- Provide technical expertise, and assistance to customers and team members.
- Provide detailed service reports (including photos) covering complaint, cause, and correction
You will have a strong commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, excellent customer service skills and be willing to undertake training/development activities as required.
You will hold a Minimum of cert III in Heavy Diesel Mechanic (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate:

- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Good time management and excellent customer service skills required.
- High motivation towards meeting business goals.
- An appetite for problem solving and always focusing on solutions for customers.
- QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Competency using a variety of equipment for testing purposes
- Auto Electrical and diagnostic skills, and/or Auto Electrical Trade Qualification.
- Proven knowledge of a wide range of construction equipment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work unsupervised and meet deadlines.
- Intermediate IT skills (digital work order and check sheet usage).
- The ability to work autonomously.
- Construction induction card.
