Due to continued growth we are currently looking for Trade's Assistant's to join our busy workshop team. We are interested in hearing from competent, motivated 2nd, 3rd or 4th year apprentices as well as light vehicle mechanics who are looking to join a supportive and experienced team, develop their skills, and advance their engineering career's. You will be exposed to a vast variety of equipment in your work-day and be rewarded with excellent remuneration and a great workplace culture.
Your duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- General service and preventative maintenance on a wide range of machinery including trucks and trailers, forklifts, front-end loaders, mobile screening plants, light vehicles, telehandlers, tractors and various other construction equipment.
- Undertaking of all mechanical repairs and servicing under direction of senior mechanics
- Diagnosing problems from electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
- Access on-board self-diagnostic systems in the engine control unit (ECU) and central processing unit (CPU) and interpret test procedures and results.
- Interpreting manuals and software to identify spare parts and liaise with the Leading Hand in regard to parts ordering.
The ideal candidate must be able to show evidence of the following:
- A trade qualification in Diesel fitting/heavy machinery, light vehicle mechanical or currently undertaking apprenticeship in vehicle engineering fields
- Mechanically minded with good problem solving skills
- Ability to positively communicate with coworkers
- Willing to be a team player
- Ability to work unsupervised when required
- Current Open Drivers license
- Prior experience working on cars, trucks and trailers (highly desirable).
- Experience in quarry equipment and machinery (desirable)
- Fabrication and welding skills
- Auto electrical /Air conditioning knowledge (desirable)
