Potter Excavations is a second-generation civil construction and bulk earthworks contractor local to the NSW Riverina region. As the business surpasses 40 years of operation out of Balranald, it’s safe to say the Potter name is a strong part of the community.
Founded in 1983 by husband and wife - Rocky and Dawn - the company has grown in size, experience and knowledge. Potters has delivered a wide variety of works supporting all facets of the local industry, from helping farmers, local businesses and municipalities right up to building and constructing large haul roads for mines in the area.
About the Role
We are looking for experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join our Workshop team based in Balranald, NSW.
- To perform high precision trade (Diesel Mechanic) work plus multi-trade skills within the limits of training and competency;
- Provide routine, break-down and rebuild maintenance to large mobile plant, as well as other assets in accordance with established practice and industry standards;
- General heavy vehicle Diesel Mechanical tasks including the use of gear reduction units, fluid couplings and power transmission devices, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Tradesman experienced with heavy vehicles (essential), as well as light vehicles (preferable).
- Proven ability to be able to troubleshoot and diagnose faults.
- Experienced in all aspects of light vehicles and heavy machinery and plant on civil construction/mine sites.
About You
- You hold a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years’ demonstrated experience as a qualified Diesel Motor Mechanic.
- A valid, open Australian Driver’s License and General Construction Induction Card or willingness to obtain.
- Demonstrated experience and general knowledge of the construction industry, civil engineering and environmental principles and relevant legislation/standards;
- High standards of respect; respect with within your team and your interactions with our valued clients, local communities and the environment;
- A deep understanding of work safety; protecting yourself and fellow employees to maintain a safe workplace;
