Heavy Duty Diesel Mobile Plant Fitter - Surface Mining

• Flat rate $75-$82 per hour (Neg*) + Super on all hours work
• 8/6 or 2/2 options, FIFO ex Perth FIFO ex Perth to the Point of Hire in Kalgoorlie/Boulder & the Goldfields regions, WA.

Our client is a global market leader in the provision of open-pit mining and drilling services to the biggest blue-chip mine sites in the Kalgoorlie/Boulder & the Goldfields regions of Western Australia. They boast as having an impeccable fleet of Surface Mining rotary blast hole  and underground mining drill rigs equipped with latest ergonomically designed and innovative technology. Their brands are well renowned with a strong focus on productivity and safety. They are currently seeking a Heavy-Duty Mobile Plant Fitter to join their maintenance team in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, WA. 

OPPORTUNITY 

This role is best suitable for candidates with a sound knowledge of Mobile Plant/diesel mechanic/hydraulic/electrical background ideally from maintenance and repair background working on Heavy DutyMobile Plant machines from a Surface Mining/drilling, quarrying, construction, earthmoving and/or agricultural/heavy road commercial transport areas. For this opportunity, the right candidate must be willing to Fly-In-Fly-Out from Perth Airport to the Kalgoorlie-Boulder & the Goldfields region of Western Australia.

The opportunity will see the successful applicant achieving: 

• Carrying out preventative scheduled maintenance and breakdown services on their range of surface drill rigs including both operated control and autonomous Atlas Copco/Epiroc Pit Viper 231, 235,275, 271, Atlas Copco/Epiroc DML,T40 Atlas Copco/Epiroc D65 autonomous ranges and/or similar manned or autonomous branded models such as  Sandvik DR416, DR412/10, D75K/D50KS/45KS,Cat/Bucyrus SKS-S/SKS-W rotary blast hole drill rigs. 
• Carrying out all task with the highest safety standards and to OEM specifications.
• Adhering and committed to company's health and safety procedures and regulations
• Diagnostic and fault finding issues using CANBUS / rig control system to identify malfunction codes.
• Troubleshooting complex hydraulic, mechanical and electrical system problems.
• when required carrying out workshop component change out/in (e.g. feed and return, ropes, blown hoses, top/bottom sheaves, feed cylinders, pumps and rotation motors), minor and major component rebuilds and overhaul.

REQUIREMENTS 

You will need to demonstrate a proven track record working on open-pit rotary drill & blast hole ideally Atlas Copco/Epiroc or Sandvik/Tamrock,Caterpillar/Bucyrus, Ingersoll Rand, Schramm and/or from a related repair and service maintenance of surface drilling rigs, earthmoving/plant machines  such as caterpillar, Hitachi, Komatsu, agricultural farming implements machinery and/or from a related area such Heavy Vehicle Road transport working on Mack, Kenworth, Scania etc. You are a trade certified with certificate(s) III in Mobile Plant Technology/ Agricultural Plant/Heavy Commercial Vehicle/Road Transport, preferably (but not essential) some exposure to sound knowledge of diagnostic tools utilising Can-bus based network/ modern computerised rig control systems software and programs. You possess a strong mechanical/hydraulic aptitude on heavy Mobile Plant machines, a problem-solver and a good positive attitude who is not afraid to embrace challenges. Your communication skills are of the highest level with the ability to service and build long term relationships with customers.
