Due to the increase in projects and transitioning to owner-operators, we are seeking passionate HD Fitters to join our rapidly growing Mobile Maintenance team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an HD Fitter at Norton Gold Fields, you are expected to conduct the maintenance and repair of the Paddington Operations Heavy Mining Equipment (HME), safely and efficiently. This role emphasizes safety, equipment upkeep, and teamwork for efficient mining operations.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Conduct regular work area inspections for hazards and defects.
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs on Heavy Mining Equipment.
- Execute planned maintenance tasks and estimate time/materials for jobs.
- Undertake repairs on LV fleet, where required and ensure tools are in working order.
- Manage costs responsibly, avoiding rework and unnecessary expenses.
- Continuously review tasks for improvement, and maintain open communication with the supervisor.
ABOUT YOU
- Trade qualified with AUR30999 Certificate III in Automotive mechanical or equivalent. (Essential)
- Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class “C” Driver’s Licence (Essential).
- Previous experience in an Open-Pit/Cut mining environment (Desirable).
- Strong commitment to safety and team player.
- Ability to maintain:
- Dump trucks such as CAT 777, 789, water carts
- Graders such as Cat 14 and 16 series
- Dozers such as D9, 10 Dozers
- Excavators such as Hitachi 1250, 3600.

- A fully covered Death and Total & Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance or allowance up to $2.4k.
- Pro-rata long service leave (LSL) after just 5 years of service and be entitled to 13 weeks paid LSL after 10 years of service.
