Genus Fleet Management forms part of the GenusPlus Group, a rapidly growing ASX listed company. The Genus Fleet workshop is based in Kenwick, and is supported by many smaller depots around the state, as well as nationwide.
The Role
One role will be on a DIDO basis where field service experience is essential (roster can be negotiated i.e. 8/6, 9/5, 2:1).
The second role will be based in Perth metro on a 9 days on/5 days off roster (12 hours per day).
Reporting directly to the Workshop & Fleet Manager, the Heavy Road Transport Mechanic's duties will include:
- Provide general servicing and maintenance for various Road Transport including medium and heavy trucks, EWP trucks, crane/borers for power line construction, machinery such as earth moving equipment and underground horizontal boring.
- Integrate new technology to existing structures of all plant and machinery, including component refurbishing.
- Conduct performance testing on fleet vehicles and reduce equipment downtime with innovative problem solving.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and hydraulic faults.

The successful candidate will be a team player and have a flexible and proactive approach, excellent time management and effective problem-solving skills. A high regard for safety is essential.
Essential Skills / Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant Australian recognised Trade Certificate
- Previous heavy duty diesel fitter/mechanic experience essential
- Broad knowledge on Japanese, American and European trucks
- Extensive field service experience
- Valid Australian Drivers License - "HR" Class
- Previous experience in conducting breakdowns / fault finding
- Strong ability to adapt to different, environments, and workloads
- Have sufficient and appropriate tools to perform the role
- Hydraulics experience highly desirable
- Experience with directional drilling and excavating equipment highly desirable
- Elevated Work Platform, Working at Heights and Crane Tickets highly desirable
