Heavy Road Transport Mechanic

Fieldy’s Heavy Equipment Services is a Safety focused, hands on heavy equipment break down support and service provider to a wide customer base of mining and civil throughout Western Australia including the Pilbara.

Fieldy's currently have a role available for the right applicant, as a Truck Mechanic based in Karratha.

Must have the right to work in Australia. We do not offer sponsorship

Roster - 2&1 FIFO 

$67-70/hr dependent on experience 

This role is responsible for carrying out on-site maintenance and servicing to a fleet of Western Star and Mack Concrete Aggi Trucks, along with some Earthmoving Equipment including Caterpillar loaders and excavators.

The successful applicant will need to be a highly experienced tradesperson with extensive knowledge in fault finding, troubleshooting, remote field service and the repair and maintenance of heavy mobile plant.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct repairs and maintenance to a high standard.
• Electrical and Hydraulic system diagnosis and repair
• Maintaining work areas to a high standard of housekeeping
• Conducting pre-task risk assessments and identifying adequate hazard control measures
• Working both autonomously and within a team environment
• A strong commitment to safety and customer visions 

Essential Criteria:

• Australian recognised Trade Certificate
• Ability to complete repairs within strict time frames.
• Experience with diagnostics and fault Western Star and Mack trucks as well as Caterpillar mobile plant in field locations and workshop environments.
• Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
• Commitment to safe work practices
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen.
