TerraCom owns and operates the Blair Athol Coal Mine, located near Clermont, Central Queensland. This open-cut thermal coal operation consists of a full suite of mining activities inclusive of dragline, truck and excavator, dozer push, mine site rehabilitation, coal processing, coal crushing, product haulage and train load-out activities. Our current clean coal production output is 2.0Mtpa.
The Blair Athol Coal mine is located 24km northwest of the family-friendly township of Clermont in Central Queensland, 120 km northwest of Emerald and 275km southwest of Mackay.

The Role
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Heavy Truck Mechanic. The role will be responsible for the execution of servicing and heavy maintenance on a fleet of Kenworth C508 heavy haulage road trains with dual side tipping trailers.
This role is critical to ensuring the reliability and availability of the coal haulage road train fleet and we are looking for someone who will look after this fleet with pride. When required you will also integrate into the wider maintenance team to assist in the maintenance of our mining equipment fleet.
Responsibilities of the Role
- Liaise with operators to ensure equipment is operating at peak performance
- Scope equipment for defects and plan repairs
- Diagnose and repair faults
- Perform planned services on both tractor and tailer units.
- Work in conjunction with the maintenance planning and execution teams to optimise efficiency of service delivery
Skills and Experience
- Relevant qualifications and experience in the maintenance of road based/Heavy Truck and trailer equipment
- High energy and ability to work with tight deadlines in a dynamic maintenance workplace as a team player
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills with ability to work under pressure, with reliability and accuracy
- A strong commitment to safety, health, environment, community, and teamwork
