With over 140 vehicles in varying shapes and sizes, and operations based over two sites in key industrial areas of Perth, we supply a diverse range of bus & coach charter services to customers throughout Western Australia. Our in-house, purpose-built workshops located at each Depot are designed to maintain our fleet and our customers’ vehicles to the highest standard.We are currently seeking 1 x Heavy Diesel Mechanic and 1 x Leading Hand Mechanic to be based at our Landsdale Depot on a full-time basis.About the RoleThe main job tasks and responsibilities for the Heavy Vehicle Mechanic include, but are not limited to:
- Perform routine services and inspections on all vehicle types
- Diagnose and rectify vehicle faults/defects
- Coordinate breakdown repairs and recoveries as required
- With assistance from the Workshop Manager, liaise with contractors & suppliers to ensure cost-effective provision of external labour & parts
- Communicate with the Operations Department to ascertain availability of vehicles requiring service or repair and/or to notify of vehicles out of service
- Complete maintenance and repair work and record in the relevant operating systems.
- Provide guidance and instruction to apprentice technicians
- Promote & enforce safe work practices & adherence to relevant company policies & procedures
- Providing leadership, instruction, and support to small workshop team at our Lansdale Depot.
- Monitoring employee productivity and providing coaching as required.
- Organising workflow of scheduled or unscheduled jobs and ensuring employees understand duties and delegated tasks.
- Liaising between management and employees.
- Relevant Mechanical qualification/ trade certificate
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a qualified technician
- Experience using diagnostics software highly regarded
- Experience working with buses & coaches preferable
- The ability to work autonomously & as part of a team
- Experience mentoring/training less experienced or apprenticed technicians
- HR Licence or greater
- Proficient communication skills
- Proven experience managing a team.
- Strong leadership skills.
